Wavy Leading Edge (WLE) Influence on a Rectangular Wing Using an Unsteady Analysis Approach

A rectangular wing with Wavy Leading Edge (WLE) effect was investigated experimentally and numerically. This research carried out the NACA 0018 profile. The morphology of humpback whale flippers, which are blunt rounded in a specific pattern, inspired design WLE. explored pitching motion reduced frequency k = 0.25 varied aspect ratios. Multiple ratios (AR) have been evaluated to determine best ratio, notably 3.9, 5.1, 7.9. Only at AR 3.9 5.1 does WLE perform efficiently both upstroke downstroke motion. has sinusoidal function shape. improvement lift force stronger during than stall is minimized wing, according numerical simulation. result could be applied fin stabilizers or wind turbines.
